I'm 36 now, so I have grown-man dreams. This album will just be me being myself as normal. Andre Holly Court. And it's funny because J. Cole sampled it [playing off of the word "Cole"]. When they asked for clearance, I told him and his team that I wasn't saying "Cole," that I was saying "Court," but they wanted to use it anyway. Andre I've never gotten that question. This biggest misconception People think you kind of ride on this wave, this non-human wave, and I think that's kind of wrong to put that on entertainers.
But I think that's a big thing for me. People talk about Andre , they talk about fashion, they talk about film, they talk about music, and it's almost like they put you in this place, but it's work. It's hard work just like anything else.
GQ: At this point in your career, after the sold out shows, movies, diamond-selling records, what keeps you inspired? Andre Creating. But it's always been that.
It's funny, I don't even consider myself a rapper, I don't consider myself a designer, or even an actor. I kind of got that opportunity through the opportunities I had before.
I was acting before I started rapping. These things just came. I just like creating stuff and trying to make good work, whatever it is. I don't care if it's designing toothbrushes. It's just making cool stuff to leave behind, that's all it is, it's nothing more. Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way? Please tell us about Hollywood Cole.
I am a music producer, I started making beats around my junior year in college and have been focused on music full-time ever since. I try not to box myself into one genre when making music and just make sure I stay as creative as possible and make anything that I can vibe with.

I feel like I would make some fire stuff being around water or like in a cabin with all woods, some snow. Cole: One that was super crazy was the Dom Kennedy one. I was working with Quentin Miller, and he was very helpful and kind of my start in this industry. Cole: I just feel like with sampling you have to try to just do something different. Even with this record I did with G Herbo, that sample has been used by Dipset, and so the way I flipped it, I kind of chopped it up and made it new.
The way I flipped it was I reversed it, pitched it down, chopped it up and they went crazy on it. There were some snippets that got leaked on a few blog sites the end of last year that we did. His new music is crazy. Also, I have a dope record coming out for Black History Month that I am excited for everyone to hear.
